I hope you're enjoying your adventures soaring beyond the stars! This post aims to clear up any questions you might have about the order of operations when determining your journey.

How to Play BEYOND: THE STARS

1. Move 1 Hex:
   • Are you in SPACE?
     • Yes: Mark the Fuel Used and move the Calendar Forward
       • Standard Fuel: 1 Hex = 1 Week
       • Hub Jump: Move to the nearest Space Hub (arrive instantly)
       • Hyperdrive: Jump to a known Hex (arrive instantly)
   • Are you on a PLANET?
     • Yes:
       • Exocraft/Vehicle (x Hexes): Ignore detrimental effects like Atmosphere, Radiation, Gravity, Difficult Terrain, Temperature, Biome-Hazard. 
         • Exocrafts/Vehicles move X Hexes per Phase of Day based on the Exocraft you have (e.g., Colossus: 2 Hexes per Phase of Day). Exocrafts do not require any Fuel
       • On Foot (1 Hex): Consider Atmosphere, Temperature, Gravity, & Biome.
         • 3 Hexes = 1 Day
         • Phases of the Day: Morning, Afternoon, Night
2. Deplete Rations/Fuel:
   • Remove 1 Ration per Phase of Day or Week traveled in Space.
     • Remove Fuel Used to Move if on a Ship
     • If in a location that requires a RadSuit/VaccSuit, remove 1 Oxygen Pellet per Scene (e.g., moving from Room to Room / Combat Scene (e.g., combat has ended).
3. Optional System Analysis:
   • Roll Mind vs DD8. Success: Reveal 1 Hex of your choice. (roll for Exploration)
4. Cosmic Weather Event:
   • If in Space, refer to the Cosmic Weather Event sentence.
5. Exploration Roll:
   • If the Hex you're in is an Event / Job / Informant, don't roll Exploration Roll.
   • If the Hex you're in is a Trade Route, roll Trade Route first, then Exploration Roll.
   • Exploration Roll (d6 if Campaign, d10 if Solo Play).
6. Returning to a Known Hex (d10):
   • (1) Encounter PERIL (pg. 53)
   • (2) Encounter HOSTILE SHIP (pg. 51)
   • (3-10) UNEVENTFUL VOYAGE (pg. 74)
